How To Stop The Spread Of Germs And Viruses

It seems like at least one person in my household has been sick since it got cold out.  I checked a few tips online, in books and asked around and I found a few ways how you can stop the spread of germs and viruses.  Here are a few quick and easy tips:

1.  Get a Lysol Disinfecting wipe or a paper towel with Lysol on it and wipe down areas that people touch often like the keyboard, door knobs, phones and remote controls.

2.  Make sure the heads of toothbrushes do not touch each other.  If somebody is on antibiotics, throw their toothbrush away as soon as they finish the antibiotics.

3.  Wash hand towels and kitchen towels more often and in hot water (with bleach if needed) when there is a sick person in your house.

4.  Throw used tissues in the toilet to rid your house of the germs immediately.  For some reason, my dog loves used tissues and pulls them out of the garbage and scatters them around.  It's gross and unhygienic.

5. Have your family wash their hands for 20 seconds under warm water with soap every time they come home, blow their nose, touch someone who is sick, put laundry into the washer or transfer it into the dryer or cough or sneeze into their hands.  Clean the web between your fingers and under your fingernails too.

6. Use Lysol disinfectant spray on soft items that you cannot wipe like kids toys and blankets that are too big to fit in the laundry machine
